Dear Families,

The following is a weekly schedule of what your child’s homework will consist of.

MONDAY

Home Reading - Students will be bringing home a baggy book to read. Please remember to write the title of the book in their “Baggy Book Assessment Booklet” and return it on Thursday. I have included a list of things you can do when you read with your child.

Spelling – New spelling words will be given on Monday. Students will complete the nightly spelling activities found in their spelling book each night during the week.

Problem of the Week
A math problem that you and your child can work on together during the week. I will introduce and discuss this problem with the class on Monday. This problem will be found in their “Problem of the Week” folder (Please only complete one problem a week).

Poetry Pal (Poem Folder) (May start later than other homework)

Students will be bringing home their poem folders. In the folder there will be a selection of poems that have been introduced in class. Your child can read some or all of the poems with you. At times your child may draw a picture about the poem. Sometimes there will be a space provided for this or they may do it on the back of the paper that the poem is written on. Sometimes I may have listed under the poem a specific activity for you and your child to complete together. This folder will need to be returned to school the following day, Thursday.

Problem of the Week

AGENDA – can be done throughout the week.

Students can work in their agendas whenever they like (just not the lines that we write on to complete our daily home message).

NOTE: Please refer to the homework list I have provided to ensure your child’s homework is completed each night. At times if work does not get finished at school, or if your child was absent from school, I may send home the work for homework. If any class work booklets are sent home please complete only the pages that have the word “ homework” written on them. If you have any questions please feel free to call me at the school.
